About Pawsitive Pathways
Pawsitive Pathways was created with a simple belief at its heart: every dog deserves to feel safe, understood, and supported. Behaviour is never “just behaviour” to us it’s a reflection of a dog’s emotional world, shaped by their experiences, needs, and the environment around them. When we listen to what a dog is communicating, we can help them thrive with compassion and clarity.
Our Philosophy
We approach every dog as an individual. There are no one‑size‑fits‑all solutions here. Instead, we take the time to understand each dog’s unique temperament, motivations, and challenges, and we work collaboratively with you to create a plan that feels achievable, respectful, and grounded in evidence‑based practice.
Welfare and consent guide everything we do. We prioritise calm, low‑stress interactions that build trust rather than rely on pressure or quick fixes. Our role is to support both ends of the lead, helping you feel confident, informed, and empowered, while helping your dog feel safe, secure, and able to learn at their own pace.
Whether you’re navigating everyday struggles or working through more complex behavioural concerns, Pawsitive Pathways offers a steady, empathetic partnership. Together, we’ll create a pathway that strengthens your bond, reduces stress, and brings more ease and joy into your life with your dog.
Grounded in Science, Built for Real Life
Our behavioural-science-based framework decodes temperament, motivations, and stress patterns. We translate complex data into practical pathways that seamlessly integrate into your daily routines.
Observe
We identify subtle body language and environmental triggers to map your dog’s unique emotional landscape.
Understand
By decoding temperament and internal motivations, we uncover the 'why' behind the behaviour.
Support
We turn these insights into manageable supports that build confidence for both ends of the lead.
Grant & Walt
Meet the Team
🌿 My Journey into Canine Behaviour
I founded Pawsitive Pathways after completing my British College of Canine Studies Level 4 PETbc‑Accredited Behaviour Diploma. My goal was simple but deeply personal: to help dogs and their human’s live calmer, more connected lives. I’ve always believed that behaviour work is about more than “fixing problems”, it’s about understanding emotions, communication, and the relationship at the heart of it all.
🐾 When My Own Dog Became My Teacher
My approach was shaped profoundly by my experience with my own dog, Walt. When he began showing reactivity towards other dogs, I struggled to find the right support, someone who could see both of us, understand the emotional weight of the situation, and guide us without judgement.
Those months taught me what it feels like to be overwhelmed, to doubt yourself, and to desperately want to help your dog but not know how.
They also taught me compassion, patience, and the importance of clear, evidence‑based guidance. Walt didn’t just change my understanding of canine behaviour, he changed the way I support people.
